small school with a big heart
The Laguna Public School Parents and Citizen Association is a very active group supporting the school in many ways!
Being a small and somewhat isolated school the P&C raises funds for things that other schools may sometimes take for granted. For example, our fund-raising enables us to provide bus hire to transport students to cultural events, excursions and to join other schools for performances and shared learning experiences.
It has provided resources to equip a multipurpose room for art lessons and create additional new learning spaces. It provides enrichment programs in music with marimba lessons, and musical equipment being purchased for a guitar group. Funds also supply presentation night trophies to acknowledge students academic and sporting successes throughout the year. Funding has also helped with the resurfacing of the school driveway.
Our major fund-raiser is the annual Art Exhibition, with a commission from the sale of art work and the proceeds of a major raffle going to our school. The exhibition attracts over several hundred visitors during the course of the weekend and is a wonderful opportunity for established and emerging artists to showcase their work.
